Statements of Faith

  • Jesus is the eternal Son of God and became flesh. He is sinless and the perfect sacrifice to take away the sins of the world. He died a physical death and rose from the dead three days later. Jesus is alive and seated at the right hand of God. Jesus is the only way to the Father. Jesus is a part of the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), which are three distinct persons in one.

    John 1:14, 29 14:6, 1 John 3:5, Matthew 22:44, Revelation 3:21, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Matthew 3:13-17.

  • The return of Christ is unknown so we must be watchful and be on the alert. Jesus is in heaven and will return one day.

    Mark 13:32-27, John 14:1-3, Acts 1:10-11

  • God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth. He knows all things and controls all things. God has existed forever with no beginning and no end. He has never changed and will never change. A part of the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), which are three distinct Persons in one.

    Genesis 1:1&26, 3:22, 11:7, Matthew 3:13-17, 11:21, Acts 17:28, James 1:17

  • The Holy Spirit is given when one accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior. He guides a follower of Christ about what is right and wrong. When one is sealed with the Holy Spirit, they are guaranteed the inheritance from God. He is the Developer of spiritual fruit through a believer. The Holy Spirit is a part of the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), which are three distinct persons in one.

    John 16:8-15, Ephesians 1:13-14, Galatians 5:16-23.

  • The Word of God is living, active, and without error. The Scriptures are created by God and God breathed.

    2 Timothy 3:16, Romans 3:4, Hebrews 4:12

  • Man was created in the image of God. The fall of man was when Adam and Eve sinned against God. All have sinned against God and is hopelessly lost without Christ in their lives. The only payment God accepts for sin is death. Jesus made the payment on the cross.

    Genesis 1:26-31, 3, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:6-12

  • Angels: Angels are mentioned through the Bible and are real. They were created, not the Creator (God). They have unique abilities that God gives them, but it is still limited power. They are higher than humans but not higher than God.

    1 Peter 1:11-12, 1 Corinthians 6:3

Demons: Demons are angels that have fallen away from Christ. They decided to follow Satan instead of God. They reject the plan of God and promote worship to false idols.

    Matthew 25:41, Revelation 16:13-16, 1 Corinthians 10-20

  • Satan is real but is under God’s control. Satan is the enemy of God and followers of Christ. He blinds the minds of unbelievers. Followers of Christ can resist Satan when they submit themselves to God.

    Job 1:12, Matthew 13:37-43, 2 Corinthians 4:4, James 4:7, 1 Peter 5:8

  • Heaven: Heaven is a real place that is the reward for believers in Jesus Christ. Jesus prepared a place for us in heaven until he returns. Believers and non-believers will be judged by God.

    Luke 14:14, John 14:1-4

Hell: Hell is a real place that is separate from God. Eternal torment for unbelievers. God alone has the authority to place people in hell.

    Luke 16:19-31, Revelation 14:10-11, 20:10

  • Everyone needs to be saved. It is available to everyone in the world. Christ came to give His life for ours. He paid for our sins by dying on the cross. Man is saved by their faith in Jesus Christ not by one’s own effort. When one accepts Christ as their Lord and Savior, they never lose it (once saved, always saved).

    Matthew 20:28, John 3:16, Romans 5:12, Ephesians 2:8-9

  • Church is a place where fellow believers and non-believers can come to hear the word of God. God wants man to fellowship and worship Him together and not on our own. Christ is the Head of the church and the people are the body of the church. The function of the church is to help people hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to equip people with instruction on how to live as a follower, to baptize people, to remember the Lord’s supper and to serve the community around the church.

    Matthew 22:37-40, Acts 2, Ephesians 1:22-23, 4:15-16, Colossians 1:18, Hebrews 10:18-25, 1 John 1:7

  • Followers of Jesus Christ have a responsibility to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. We are to witness to our neighbors and make disciples of Christ; to be involved in the church and to encourage others to attend church and to follow Christ.

    Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8, 2:42, Hebrews 10:19-25
